Band Bio
The Rockhounds were founded in San Francisco in 1988 by
Paul Chandler. Since that time, The Rockhounds have
played constantly at all kinds of venues - from
concerts to night clubs to private parties.
We have
had songs on FM radio, recorded a soundtrack for a
video, and have had our performance broadcast on
network television.
The Rockhounds have had an exciting history since the band's San Francisco debut in 1988. It was during their ill-fated
European tour of 1990 when tragedy struck. During an appearance at Il Mocambo club in Tangier, the band members
were kidnapped by Arab Slavers and sold into indentured servitude to an Oil Sheik. Glenn, using his smarts learned on
the mean streets of Brooklyn was able to negotiate better quarters & food rations for the band. One night, during a forced
concert performance aboard a yacht off the coast of Yemin, Bo was able to create a disturbance involving the veiled second
wife of one of the guests. This distraction provided the perfect cover for Paul & Glenn to hijack a lifeboat and effect an escape.
By cutting lights and power at the crucial moment, Bo was able to slip over the side of the yacht with his bass to join the
other members, leaving behind the heartbroken lady and his own beloved fuzz box.
The band found work aboard a tramp steamer and was able to work their way back to America, where they disembarked back
in San Francisco in 1996. The following year, The Rockhounds relocated to Chico in Butte County, Ca where their music is
enjoyed regularly at the finest clubs, casinos, parties, & events. 3 Great Players!
On guitar and vocals is Paul Chandler; on bass and
vocals is Bo Baird; on drums and percussion is
Glenn Burns....3 veteran players with the experience,
chops and gear to make it happen; we were born ready
to rock!
